Easter Jello-O Layered Pie (Printable Version)

A festive no-bake dessert featuring vibrant Jello layers and whipped cream in a buttery graham cracker crust.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - ½ package Pink Starburst Jell-O (approximately 2 ounces)
02 - 1½ ounces Blue Jell-O (½ package)
03 - 1½ ounces Yellow Jell-O (½ package)
04 - 1½ ounces Purple Jell-O (½ package)
05 - 16 ounces whipped cream, divided
06 - 3 cups boiling water
07 - 1⅓ cups cold water, divided
08 - Yellow food coloring (optional)
09 - Pink food coloring (optional)

→ Crust

10 - 2½ cups graham cracker crumbs
11 - 12 tbsp butter (1½ sticks), melted

# Steps:

01 - Melt butter in the microwave until fully liquified. Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a medium bowl and mix until a thick, sand-like texture forms. Transfer mixture to a springform pan, spreading across the bottom and up the sides, pressing firmly to pack. Place crust in the freezer until ready to add layers.
02 - Place each color of Jell-O powder in separate small bowls. Add ¾ cup boiling water to each bowl and stir until completely dissolved. Add ⅓ cup cold water to each bowl and stir again. Refrigerate bowls for 20-30 minutes until mixtures are thickened but not solidified.
03 - Add 4 ounces of whipped cream to each Jell-O bowl and mix vigorously until fully combined, which may take 1-2 minutes per bowl. If using food coloring to enhance the yellow and pink layers, add at this point and mix until color is uniform and reaches desired intensity.
04 - Pour the first color layer into the prepared crust and spread evenly. Return pie to freezer for 5 minutes to set. Repeat this process with each remaining color, freezing for 5 minutes between layers.
05 - Freeze the completed pie for 3-4 hours or until completely solid throughout. Top with additional whipped cream if desired before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
02 - This dessert doesn't freeze well as the gelatin's texture and consistency will change once thawed.
03 - The yellow and pink Jell-O turns out quite light, so consider adding food coloring for more vibrant colors.
04 - When layering colors, consider how they'll appear next to each other. Pink doesn't contrast well when placed against purple.
05 - It's acceptable if your Jell-O layers extend beyond the crust edges - they won't adhere to the pan.
