Homer Simpson Donuts (Printable Version)

Fluffy yeast donuts with pink glaze and sprinkles, inspired by the iconic cartoon character's favorite sweet treat.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup warm water
02 - 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
03 - 3 1/4 cups plain flour
04 - 1/4 cup caster sugar
05 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 1/2 cup buttermilk
09 - Vegetable oil for frying
10 - 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
11 - 4 tablespoons milk
12 - Pink food coloring
13 - 1/4 cup sprinkles

# Steps:

01 - Mix yeast with warm water in a bowl and let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
02 - Combine flour, sugar, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, buttermilk and activated yeast mixture in a large bowl. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
03 - Cover dough and allow to rise in a warm place for 60-75 minutes until doubled in size.
04 - Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into donuts using a donut cutter.
05 - Heat vegetable oil to 182°C (360°F) and fry donuts for 90 seconds per side until golden brown.
06 - Combine powdered sugar, milk and pink food coloring to create glaze. Dip cooled donuts in pink glaze and immediately top with sprinkles.
