Ham Cheese Puff Pastry (Printable Version)

Flaky pastry pockets filled with savory ham and melted cheddar, perfect for entertaining or quick family meals.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 puff pastry sheets
02 - 340g ham, cut into small cubes
03 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
04 - 1 egg plus 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

# Steps:

01 - Let puff pastry thaw at room temperature until pliable but still cool.
02 - Heat oven to 400°F (200°C).
03 - Place one pastry sheet on a lightly greased baking sheet.
04 - Layer ham and cheese evenly on pastry, leaving a 2.5 cm (1-inch) border around all edges.
05 - Beat egg with water until fully combined.
06 - Brush egg wash on pastry edges to help create a seal.
07 - Top with second pastry sheet and firmly press edges together to seal completely.
08 - Cut several small vents in top layer and brush entire surface with remaining egg wash.
09 - Bake for 20 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
10 - Allow to cool slightly before cutting into 8 equal pieces. Serve warm.

01 - For gluten-free version, use gluten-free puff pastry and check that ham has no gluten additives.
